Mark Merritt is co-founder at DCMC Partners and one of the most experienced and respected disaster recovery consultants in the U.S. He has served in senior leadership roles in nearly every significant disaster in the country over the last 20 years.
His extensive experience includes managing large-scale disaster recovery efforts for the state of Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina and subsequent storms, for the state of New Jersey following Superstorm Sandy, and for the government of Puerto Rico in the aftermath of Hurricanes Irma and Maria. These clients attribute billions in recovery funding to Mark and his team.
Before founding DCMC Partners, Mark was a partner and co-founder of a leading emergency management firm with former FEMA director James Lee Witt. For nearly a decade, Mark worked at FEMA as program assistant to the director in the agency’s Recovery Division and as deputy chief of staff. While in the federal government, Mark learned the intricacies of recovery programs and served as representative to the White House. He spearheaded the agency’s first-ever team to review, reconcile, and close out past disaster recovery programs. Mark has maintained his close relationships with FEMA colleagues and continues to work on national recovery policy issues.
Mark graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point and served in the U.S. Army.
